She has always worked in early years education and feels passionate that children’s early experiences need to be of the highest quality, in child focused environments that give them opportunities to play and learn, supported by knowledgeable, skilled professionals who understand their role in supporting families to shape their child’s future.
She has experience of working in both large public corporations and small independent companies. Starting as a nursery nurse and progressing to Manager and Area Manager for a small chain, she has a real understanding of the day to day requirements of providing a high-quality nursery.
Her experience of working in the public sector was firstly as a development office, supporting start up nurseries through the registration process and supporting existing nurseries pre and post Ofsted inspection, ensuring they were meeting all their statutory requirements as well as delivering a high-quality early year’s provision. She then progressed to manage a large Government initiative for the Local authority developing a range of early years and family services from pregnancy to five years.
Jackie moved back to working in nurseries so she could work more directly with children and be more hands on in supporting the development of nurseries. Having met some of the team many years ago and been impressed with their approach to early years, she was very excited to join the London Preschool, she feels their curriculum offers children such a unique opportunity, one that she would have loved for her own children.
Jackie is married and has two grown up children. When her children were young, she was working in nurseries so has first-hand experience of being a working parent and the pressures that brings. She has always felt as well as high quality care and education it was important to allow children to explore and discover the whole person. From an early age her children were introduced to as many opportunities as possible, including dance, music, visual arts and sport, to allow them to find their talents and passion. They are now both successfully pursuing their careers that were born from their passions.
Jackie lives with three generations of her family and loves spending time with her very extended family. She loves to travel, musical theatre and country walks with her husband and their dog and days out with her friends.

When she first came to London she started working as a nursery nurse but very quickly started climbing career ladder driven by her passion and ambition and determination to give each child in her care the best start in life. She worked as a nursery Manager for another provider prior to being promoted Area Manager for small chains of nurseries.

She found she missed working directly with children and families and made the decision to return to her roots where she could again make a direct difference to children’s lives.

Helen is very ambitious and passionate and her roles in quality and operations which means she has an unquenchable thirst to achieve outstanding standards. Since stepping into The Winchmore Hill Preschool, Helen has loved being a part of a growing team that share the same vision and love for early years as she does.
